Thanks to the archive feature, you can archive all email you don't want to see in your inbox.
I archive everything except current issues.
If you want to see something you just archived, simply search for it.
As you type, gmail attempts to find a match in either the email address, or full name.
Gmail groups all emails with the same subject together. This makes it easy to view the entire discussion.
I star email messages that I intend to refer back to frequently, but don't wish to see in my inbox.
Starring messages keeps them easily accessible, but not in the way.
Messages can have multiple labels. Here, I've assigned all messages from Netflix, the the label 'netflix.' Labels can be applied manually or automatically with a filter.
Filters are rules that govern your emails as the come in to your mailbox.
In this case if a message comes in from netflix's email address, apply the label automatically.
