Last week I bought an iMac with a 20" display. So far I absolutely love the system. The screen is and case are beautiful. I think I've finally got the system set up the way I want it. The first problem I had to solve was how to keep the iMac synchronized with the other machines in my home.

Here's my work flow, and it's kind of a beautiful thing:

  1. I download pictures from my digital camera
  2. The photos are imported into iPhoto on my 12" Powerbook
  3. I plug in my iPod, and the photos are automatically copied to my 5th Gen iPod (60 GB)
  4. The I run psync x , to update iPhoto on my iMac with the latest pics
  5. I'm sharing my iPhoto library across multiple accounts , so my Wife also gets the latest photos in her iPhoto

The same is true for iTunes. This work flow makes sure the data is replicated across multiple systems. The process happens in mere minutes. Awesome.
