I've finished all the paperwork for the three officer vacancies this morning. I'm going to hand-carry them to St. Augustine this afternoon. If all goes well I should hear something in two weeks. It was a lot of work putting it all together. It feels good get it all ready.
Tivo ToGo is working great. I'm moving a lot of old shows off of my Tivo (60GB) to my PC. It takes 20 minutes to transfer a 30 minute show recorded in Medium Quality over my wireless network. I'm using a linksys 802.11b USB adapter connected to an Linksys WRT-54g 802.11g access point.
After the shows are transfered to my PC, I'm burning them to DVD using Sonic's My DVD 6.1. The DVD's are playable on my home DVD player and my Apple Powerbook.
My wife just called to tell me that tivo finally gave me the new service upgrade last night. This upgrade will allow me to transfer programming off of my Tivo and on to my computer's Hard Drive. Finally I'll be able to move shows that have been on my tivo for two years. Stuff like the last ep of M*A*S*H, Tales of the Gun: Guns of Valor, and all my "News Radio" eps can find a new home on my PC. This is going to awesome. The only thing I'm worried about it the time it takes to transfer video over the usb 1.1 powered 802.11b adapter.
I got my AFOQT scores yesterday. They we're a little lower than I expected, but all and all they were good scores. After doing some research on the internet, I found out that the scores I got on each section qualifies me for pretty much every job in the AF. I'm submitting 3 packages for 4 different officer vacancies at the end of the month. Even if I don't get one of the open positions, at least I will be better prepared for the next opportunity.
Kevin Rose is going to re-lauch his internet video series 'the broken.' Kevin will also start a new series that will pick up where the old Screen Savers left off before the show was changed by Comcast.
"This show痴 content will be very much along the lines of the old TSS. Hardcore tech demos, and HOWTOs. These downloads will be packed full of information, and maybe even feature some old friends from the past.
I知 still hard at work on TSS. I値l be on M-F delivering new segments, interviews, and content. Know that this is in no way set out to compete against G4 in any way, rather a continuation of a weekend side project I have been working on since the TechTV days." - Kevin Rose
I first heard the news on Leo Leporte's podcast. The podcast was made at Macworld just after Steve Job's keynote. Patrick, Kevin, Prager, Roger Chang, and Leo were all in the podcast. It was a TSS homecomming of sorts.
Lately it seems that I get more and more multimedia content from the web. Tuesday night I watched all of the Macworld Keynote. That was more important to me than anything on TV that night. Last night I got caught up with my Podcasts.
If you want to see Kevin's project as much as I do, you might want to consider making a donation or buying some merchendise.

... the test is over.
(( Flight Test, The Flaming Lips ))
I thought I was smart, I thought I was right.
I thought it better not to fight
I thought there was a virtue in always being cool.
So it came time to fight, I thought I'll just step aside
And that the time would prove you wrong
And that you would be the fool.
I don't know where the sunbeams end and the starlights begin
It's all a mystery
Oh to fight is to defend
If it's not now then tell me when would be the time that you would stand up and be a man
A vote to lose I could accept, but to surrender I just wept
And regretted this moment
Oh that I...I was the fool.
I don't know where the sunbeams end and the starlights begin
It's all a mystery
And I don't know how a man decides what's right for his own life
It's all a mystery
'Cause I'm a man, not a boy
And there are things you can't avoid
You have to face them when you're not prepared to face them.
If I could, I would
But you're with him now, it'd do no good
I should have fought him, but instead I let him...
I let him take it.
I don't know where the sunbeams end and the starlights begin
It's all a mystery
And I don't know how a man decides what's right for his own life
It's all a mystery.

I feel bad about saying this, but I'm kinda over football until next fall. I start to get a little bored with it in early December, and usually skip out on the post season.
Right now I'm really looking forward to watching my new favorite sport: Superbike Racing. From all the pre-season news, it looks like Honda is going to have an awesome 'team' this year in both AMA and World Superbike:
In World Superbike (mostly in Europe):
-Pier-Francesco Chili from Italy (one of my favorite riders) is switching from the Ducati 998 to the Honda 1000RR. Chili had a lot of ups and downs last year. At one time Chili was leading the championship, but finished 5th due to machanical problems and crashes.
-Ben Bostrom from the US, who rode 1000RR in AMA, is switching to the Renegade Honda team in World Superbike. It will be nice to have an American on the World Superbike Circuit again.
-Chris Vermeulen from Australia will have his second World Superbike start on the 1000RR. Last year he finished 4th in the championship, just above Chili.
-Karl Muggeridge will graduate from the Honda 600RR to the 1000R and join teammate and fellow Assie Chris Vermeulen on the Ten Kate Honda Team. Last year Karl won the World Supersport Championship on the Honda 600RR.
That's four great riders on all on Honda this year. Last year, Chris Vermeulen was the only one.
In AMA (United States):
Jake Zemke and Miguel Duhamel will continue to ride the 1000RR for the Honda factory team. Last year Jake Zemke was Jake's rookie year in Superbike. He finished 3rd in the chamionship on the Erion Honda team. Since Bostrom went to World Superbike in Europe, Jake will take his place on the Honda factory team. Miguel Duhamel finished 2nd last year. He has won more races than anyone in superbike history.
Last year was the first year for Honda 1000RR, I'm hoping this year will be ever better as the Honda Racing teams continue to refine and develop this new bike.
Can't want until the first race in Feburary.
I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Here's a list of the the thinks I'm looking forward to in the first part of 2005:
-Mac World 2005
-Superbike Racing
-Daytona Beach Bike Week
-Jacksonville Suns Baseball
-AFOQT
-the new Mountain Goats Album
-Spending more time with family and friends
I'm pretty optimistic about '05. Should be a great year!
