I switched to vonage last weekend. I've been thinking about it for a long time, and I finally made the switch. So far it's awesome. The calls are clear, and it uses very little bandwidth (about 100 KB both ways). Many in my inner circle are dropping their land lines in favor of cell phones. I'm not a big fan of this approach. As much as I love my cell phone, I kinda like talking on 5.8 Ghz cordless phones. They work anywhere in my house not matter what. I don't have to remember to charge it everyday, and they're in every room in my house (how convenient). I'm on the 14.99/ 500 minute plan. I think that will be fore than enough minutes for us (incomming calls are free), and it more than cuts our phone bill in half.
I'm pretty happy with the service so far. If you have high speed cable internet, it's a good alternative to canceling your phone altoghter. Just transfer your existing phone number to vonage, and you're all set.
