New Mountain Goats album available on emusic

Get Lonely, The Mountain Goats latest album is available on emusic. I wanted to by the CD but it wasn't available in my local record stores. This will tie me over until I can order the CD from amazon. Have I mentioned lately that I love emusic? You just can't beat reasonably priced DRM free downloads.

TiVo Series 3 beta box snapped in the wild!

It wasn't exactly a well kept secret that TiVo was beta testing its Series 3 boxes in select markets, but up until now there wasn't a man or woman brassy enough to break the NDA and snap some shots of the damned thing. Behold, the Series 3 in the wild!

The EA-18G Growler airborne electronic attack (AEA) aircraft

The U.S. armed forces' newest airborne electronic attack aircraft, the EA-18G Growler had its public 'coming out' ceremony yesterday, being presented to a crowd of more than 750 U.S. Navy customers and industry partners during a ceremony at Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems facilities in St. Louis.

"This is actually pretty sick. Logistically this is the Navy saving money with an advanced weapons system. Now with the Tomcat replaced by the F-18F and the charlies replaced by the echos and now this you are looking at something like 5 or 6 squadrons with commonly stocked parts at sea. Not to metion to room you save on deck, hanger, and the storerooms by eliminating two aging platforms. Turn around time for locally repaired assets will just be that much faster because the AIMD will have more of the same family assets in the repair cycle together."

Today we watched some people make fudge at Union Station. This doesn't sound all that interesting, but it really was. it's a kind of performance art. They sing songs about fudge and get crowd participation with the promise of free fudge ... good times.

Segway Driver's License

Segway

Today I took Segway 101 at the St Louis Science Center. Man, that was fun. 15 minutes into the class I was going up ramps and weaving through cones. Once you get a feel for it, it's almost too easy to ride. I'm not going to go buy one or anything, but I would love to take a tour on one. This was probably my favorite thing we did in St Louis.
