I want to start this entry off letting every know that I'm a complete moron. Things that would be totally apparent to most normal people are lost on me. I go to the Mountain Goats show every year at Cafe Eleven in St Augustine. It's kind of a drive from Jacksonville, but hey I can't blame for not wanting to play in Jacksonville. There's just nothing here ... and I really mean that in the worst possible way. So anyway, I've been looking forward to this show all year ... it's been on my delicious links and everything. So we get to the show, and I go to give people my money, and the girl at the door looks at me like I'm crazy, and I probably am ... and says "it sold out 2 days ago." How could I let this happen? The thought never occurred to me that the show could sell out. So we get back into the Prius and drove home. So now I have to wait until next year. If I lived in a real town it wouldn't be that big of a deal. I could say something like, "it's no big deal The Decemberists or Band of Horses or The New Pornographers are going to be here next week." But I can't say that, because I live in the most boring town on the face of the earth. And this show, was probably the only show I was going to hit this year. Maybe next year John will get a large venue, or maybe even play two nights. But then again I have no idea how these things work.
